Hello everyone. First of all, I want to apologize for not posting this sooner. I just got back from vacation (literally walked in the door about 30 minutes ago. ) and I had planned on posting this project before I left -- last Friday. But that didn't happen, with the ridiculous amount of last minute packing I was doing. (Yes, I'm a procrastinator. )

But anyhow, here it is. It actually works out alright now because we can be finishing up this project right before our next lesson begins, which will be the week of July 8th.

For this project, I want you to create your own Dark Creature! Hoorah! Right?

But there are a few guidelines -- after all, what's a good project without some rules?
They are as follows:


+ Since this is a 'Dark creatures' assignment, your creature must exhibit some Dark qualities. An easier route to go would be to pick some traits that one or two of the Dark creatures we talked about has, and then incorporate those into your creature. Or make your creature completely original, with characteristics that you think make it Dark. Your creature must include three Dark characteristics.

+ Your creature must be original! I don't want to see a half-grindylow/half-kappa mix. So please be original with your creations. Obviously, using characteristics that other Dark creatures have isn't original, but other than that, don't base your creature largely off of one that we discussed.

+ Name your creature. Not "Bob." I mean a species name, such as "grindylow."

+ When it comes to creating your creature physically, there are two different routes. Use an image program (such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, or even Microsoft Paint) to draw out the creature or manipulate the image.
OR
You can draw the creature out by hand and scan it or take a picture of it and upload the image to the internet.

+ Include a description of the Dark characteristics your creature exhibits. Also include some information such as: diet, habitat, origin. The more effort you put into your creature, both its appearance and description, the bigger your reward.


I know it's a lot of guidelines, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to post them! (You can also PM them to me.)

This project will be due on Saturday, July 7th at 11:59 PM, GMT -5.

Your submissions should be sent to the class e-mail account, which is MNIDefense@gmail.com. Please don't attach the image; send a link to the uploaded image only. Remember to include your username in the e-mail. Also post here when you've sent it in.
